With Purpose
Every Little Wonder experience is designed with more than fun in mind. Through hands-on, child-led play, children are given space to explore, create, move, problem-solve and connect in ways that naturally support their development. Take a closer look at the benefits thoughtfully woven into the way we play.
Children learn through their senses. Hands-on experiences with texture, movement, light, sound and materials invite children to investigate, compare and make discoveries while engaging their developing sensory systems.
From scooping, pouring and building to climbing, crawling and balancing, play gives children meaningful opportunities to practice coordination, strength and control. These skills develop naturally when children are motivated by something they actually want to do.
What happens if I stack this here? Will this fit? How can I get that out? Open-ended play gives children opportunities to experiment, make predictions, try different approaches and discover solutions for themselves.
When play doesn't have one "right" outcome, children get to bring their own ideas to it. Pretend play, building, creating and experimenting encourage imagination, storytelling and self-expression while giving children ownership over what their play becomes.
Child-accessible spaces allow children to make choices, follow their interests and attempt things for themselves. Every little I did it moment helps build confidence in their own abilities and encourages them to keep exploring.
Playing alongside others creates natural opportunities to communicate, cooperate, take turns, observe other children and navigate shared spaces. Child-led play can also support emotional regulation by allowing children to engage, pause, repeat and move through an experience at their own pace.
